Jess Blake is a conductor, singer and music teacher who works with choirs in SE London. She leads school choirs and the successful adult ensemble ‘Penge Chamber Choir’. After an early career working in primary schools teaching classroom music and singing in church choirs, she now specialises in training choirs.

Jess studied Music at the University of Birmingham and, after three years living and singing in Germany, returned to Birmingham to complete a Masters degree in baroque performance practice. Jess loves encouraging people to find their voice, especially children. She has worked in over 30 primary schools and previously worked for Sing Up, Ex Cathedra, Tri-borough music hub and Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service.

Jess has sung in many central London churches and concert halls and now wishes to turn her attention to Penge. She is currently volunteering for Penge Music and helping in their pursuit to bring quality music to the local community. Jess also plays the violin, ukulele and leads singing sessions at a local dementia café.
